French Army 1892/14 Brace Attachment MSC47

At first glance you might be wondering what on earth this thing is. The design dates back to WW1 field equipment where this 50mm belt loop was used to connect the rear leather suspender strap to the belt (see our BRA01). They have been in storage since the 1950’s so some leather with shine them up beautifully and could be re-purposed to a key-hook perhaps?
