US M1967 Carrier, Sleeping Gear

This “Carrier,Sleeping Gear” was another item of the range of nylon field equipment introduced by the US Army during the Vietnam War as a response to the problems found with the canvas M56 equipment in the tropical environment.Being a simple square of fabric that buckled around the rolled-up sleep gear, it was a far simpler improvement on the tangle of straps that was the M56 version.Once rolled the two D-rings clipped to hooks on the M67 suspenders and velcro tabs secured it to the two vertical straps. The third larger velcro tab enabled the carrier to be worn lower on the straps and secured to the waist belt. This carrier, dated “69, is as pictured in very good used condition with only some minor fading, marks on theĀ  buckles and three very small holes above the US stamp.
