NZDPM “Squires” Patrol Pack

These packs were part of a small run made for the NZ Army by “Squires Manufacturing” of Taihape in the early 2000’s when it was realised there was a need for a smaller “patrol/day pack” rather than using the full sized ALICE pack. With a total capacity of (by our calculations) roughly 40 litres, it consists of a main compartment with drawcord throat and securing strap. Attached to this are three smaller buckled pockets with drain holes and a zip pocket in the top flap. The adjustable shoulder straps have a detachable chest strap, and side-release buckles for quick removal and there is a 38mm wide waist strap. The pack is used with two (competently done) “soldier” repairs to the shoulder straps but due to the quality materials and workmanship of these sought after packs this has many years of use left in it.
